prescott valley entertainment center

Prescott Valley, Arizona
Town of Prescott Valley
2000

Bielman & Browning Architects and Dufresne-Henry

The Prescott Valley Entertainment Center is a key cultural and commercial
component in developing a town center for Prescott Valley. After years of rapid population growth, its leaders are focusing attention on the creation of an urban center that will serve as its cultural, economic and architectural heart. The site links entertainment with commercial and civic districts and considerable auto, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. It includes a multi-screen cinema, restaurants and commercial space with a Calthorpe Associates planning document as a guide. We collaborated with Bielman & Browning Architects and Dufresne-Henry to devise the landscape master plan and design for this emerging commercial hub.

Inspired by the New Urbanist Concept, our design creates a pedestrian-oriented program that serves to define the town center and build a sense of community. The plan calls for public squares, open spaces and hardscape/streetscape designs to unite five planned districts and kick off quality commercial development off of the Highway 69 corridor. Decorative hardscape was combined with raised planters and bench seating to create a friendly, downtown feel along the entertainment center’s main corridors. Ramadas, lawns and a primary water feature anchor the main entrance and link it to adjacent building and streetscape. Area parking and lighting were also developed for the surrounding area.
